about me
I don't remember how or when I realized that I wanted to be a dancer in life. But I remember every single time I wanted to give up and didn't.

Hi, I’m Evelin Bandeira, a ballerina who has danced through life’s most graceful moments and its most challenging setbacks. I know I was born with a passion for movement and art, and I’ve spent decades living the artistry of dance, letting it shape not only my career but my entire existence. Yet, life, as it often does, threw its own choreography my way — five injuries in a row, including a ligament tear, and a painful separation — that forced me to step back and rethink my journey.

And now, after dedicating a year to healing both body and soul during a sabbatical in Greece, I realized that recovery wasn’t just about mending physical wounds; but also about finding purpose in the uncertainty. This year and a half taught me patience, resilience, and the beauty of starting over. Now in my late 30s, I’m rediscovering ballet not as a perfectionist art but as a practice of love and acceptance for a body that has been through so much, yet continues to move with grace.

I created Poised Paths to share this chapter of my life with you — a space to talk about recovery, plant-based living, and the delicate balance between ambition and self-care. This blog isn't just for dancers; it's for anyone who's ever had to pause, reflect, and find their way back to the things that set their soul on fire.

Through my journey, I hope to inspire others to see that it's never too late to pivot, to heal, and to reignite a passion you thought might have been lost. Let’s dance through life's twists and turns together, one poised step at a time.
