Paris is every dancer's dream, with its rich history and vibrant dance community - oh, Paris! And one of the most cherished techniques here is Barre au Sol, a floor-based ballet practice developed by the legendary Boris Kniaseff. And that's why, every time I'm in Paris, I take classes in my favorite places.

And since I just arrived in Paris, I'll share my favorite places to try some Barre au Sol, also called Barre à Terre, in the City of Lights!

If you're a dance enthusiast, you must visit Le Centre de Danse du Marais! Located in the heart of Paris, it offers a variety of dance classes, including Barre à Terre for both ballet and contemporary modalities. It's a historic place that has all that Parisian charm, making it a perfect place to connect with the roots of ballet, and going for a walk in its alleys. It's my favorite place. It has a café - everything you need!

Another amazing place to be, just by the Bastille! Great for professionals and curious, it's a chance to take your class and head out to one of the best neighborhoods in Paris - in my opinion.

This traditional school is another fave of mine. Great teachers, well located, and a good variety of classes that include not only Barre à Terre, but a mix with Pilates. And you can walk to the Opera Garnier after your class. Perfect, right?

This is a renowned dance school that also offers Barre à Terre classes that cater to dancers of all levels. The academy's emphasis on technique and discipline and I really recommend it, specially if you're a pro. And you can walk to the Rodin's Museum on your way back. What can I can say?

Micadanses is a hub for dance enthusiasts!!! Their Barre à Terre is fun, and they really focus on quality instruction and community, which makes it an ideal spot for anyone looking to deepen their practice and make friends. Have I told you that it's a few walks from the River Seine? I think you know what to do!

And whether you're a local or just visiting, Paris offers plenty of opportunities to explore Barre au Sol and the city itself. I love this city for giving me the opportunity of visiting amazing and historical places while working on my technique. Most of these places accept online reservation, which can make your life a lot easier!
